Lumb's minister of 12 years, Robert Parkinson left in the spring of 2007 to pastor Didsbury Baptist Church in south Manchester. Robert's association with the church was a long and happy one. Many tears were shed when Robert moved on - on both sides - but God has His sense of timing and purpose, and has used the time without any paid ministry staff to stretch many of the congregation and bring many gifts to the fore. The church continues to be strong, with the congregation pulling together to keep things moving forward in God's work here, rather than just maintaining the status quo during this phase in the church's life.
The church's core leadership team consists of 8 deacons, elected from within the membership. They have many jobs - not least of which is currently the search for a new minister.
Beryl Tattersall, Julie Sharp, Kate Williams, Tom Morley, Andrew Whittaker, Peter Bill, Jennifer Long and Ben Clayton, make up the diaconate of Lumb Baptist Church.
Many, many members of Lumb's congregation minister within the church.
